Rockhopper optimistic about Falkland's seismic returns

SALISBURY, UK –Rockhopper Exploration Plc. has identified possible fan systems on its Falkland Islands acreage, says Pierre Jungels, executive chairman.

"The target has the potential to be large and is in the area of the basin where oil has already been proven," says Jungels. "We have already announced separately a positive EM result on Ernest and have other targets in areas PL023 and PL024, giving a total potential figure of 2.5 Bbbl recoverable in these additional license areas."

The area covered by the fan anomaly is about 40 sq km (15.4 sq mi).
