SEG: dGB announces OpendTect 4.2

A new version of OpendTect 4.2 by dGB Earth Sciences debuted in Beta version at the Society of Exploration Geophysicists annual meeting and exhibition.

DENVER – A new version of OpendTect 4.2 by dGB Earth Sciences debuted in Beta version at the Society of Exploration Geophysicists annual meeting and exhibition. The new software comes with new HorizonCube and Well Correlation plug-ins plus interpretation, editing, and visualization features. The commercial version is expected to be available before year-end.

According to dGB, OpendTect 4.2 offers:
• An increase in the number and density of mapped horizons for improved quantitative rock property estimation, better definition of stratigraphic traps, more accurate geological models, and the opportunity to extract more from high-resolution seismic data
• A well correlation tools with a new stratigraphic framework and interactive viewer
• New cross-plotting features
• New visualization, editing, and data integration features.
