LONDON-- Dominion Petroleum has finished interpreting around 4,300 km (2,672 mi) of 2D seismic acquired last year over Tanzania’s offshore block 7.

The results suggest the presence of numerous prospects and leads in mid-water depths that could be drilled from a semisubmersible or a drillship. The largest prospect has potential recoverable hydrocarbons estimated at around 1,000 MMbbl.

Dominion is seeking a farm-in partner to the block, and plans to pursue its investigations by acquiring at least 500 sq km (193 sq mi) of 3D seismic over the acreage in 2010.
