LONDON -- Total E&P Angola has awarded CGGVeritas a contract for the inversion of 4D seismic data covering the Dalia, Rosa, Girassol, and Jasmine fields offshore Angola.

Hampson-Russell Software & Services, a CGGVeritas company, will undertake the inversion work with assistance from CGGVeritas’ Luanda processing and imaging center. The project will use StratiSI 4D, Hampson-Russell’s proprietary global 4D elastic inversion product.

“With the increasing number of 4D vintages available over producing fields, global 4D inversion is better constrained and yields results that are more readily interpretable in terms of production effects,” says Philippe Doyen, VP of R&D for Hampson-Russell Services. “In particular, it can provide quantitative estimates of reservoir properties, such as fluid saturation, with more certainty and capture the movement of fluids and changes in pressure with greater accuracy.”
