Technip connects for Perdido mooring

Technip has contracted Ballgrab to supply the subsea connectors for the mooring lines of Shell's Perdido project.

LANCASTER, UK –Technip has contracted Ballgrab to supply the subsea connectors for the mooring lines of Shell's Perdido project in the Gulf of Mexico in 8,000 ft (2,438 m) water depth.

Ballgrab's ball and taper connectors will be installed on each of nine lines on the polyester rope/chain mooring system to link the suction piles and ground chain. The connectors has a minimum design breaking load of 3,880 kips.
