BP re-engages AK for Skarv

BP has contracted Aker Kværner for detail engineering, procurement, and construction management assistance for its Skarv-Idun gas/condensate development in the Norwegian Sea.

STAVANGER, Norway --BP has contracted Aker Kværner for detail engineering, procurement, and construction management assistance for its Skarv-Idun gas/condensate development in the Norwegian Sea.

Aker Kværner has been part of this project since Nov. 2005, performing front end engineering design for the FPSO and intermediate engineering for the 16,000 ton (14,515 metric ton) topsides. The contract value for the new work is around $361 million.

At peak, the company will have over 400 people working on the project. Skarv-Idun is due to start up in August 2011.
