Egypt unrest pushes back offshore gas expansion

Egypt’s continuing political and social instability has impacted Burullus’ latest field development in the Mediterranean Sea.

READING, UK – Egypt’s continuing political and social instability has impacted Burullus’ latest field development in the Mediterranean Sea.

According to partner BG,Phase 9a of the West Delta Deep Marine gas project will now start up later than expected in 2014, assuming the program suffers no further disruption.

Offshore Norway, first production from the BG-operatedKnarr project in the North Sea will likely be delayed by around four months into the second half of 2014.
