Spirit to drill North Sea Cassidy prospect

Spirit Energy has permission from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority to drill two exploration wells in the southern Norwegian North Sea.

OSLO, NorwaySpirit Energy has permission from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority to drill two exploration wells in the southern Norwegian North Sea.

The jackupMaersk Interceptor should start drilling wells 8/10-7 S and 8/10-8 S this weekend on production license 405 in 66 m (216 ft) water depth, 15 km (9.3 mi) from the Ula field.

Spirit is looking to test the Cassidy prospect. The program will comprise exploration drilling with a side track, well testing, and an associated appraisal well.

Drilling operations should last for 162 days.
