DALLAS -- Toreador Resources Corp. and partners in the South Akcakoca sub-basin project in the Black Sea offshore Turkey have confirmed natural gas production from three wells on the Akkaya platform. The field has been flowing at 18 MMcf/d of gas, Toreador says.
Repair operations began in late June on the pipeline spur to the Dogu Ayazli platform. Expectation were for repairs to be completed by the end of July. The spur was damaged during marine operations around the platform, Toreador says.
Meanwhile, operations on the Ayazli platform continue, with the Ayazli-3A well completion finished and the Ayazli-2A completion under way. After the Ayazli-2A is completed, topsides will be installed on the Ayazli tripod, and tieback operations will begin.
ThePrometheus jackup rig is to be released from the South Akcakoca sub-basin project after completing the Ayazli-2A and will drill an exploratory well in the Thrace Black Sea permit area. The well is targeting an upper Eocene reef in the Sogucak formation and the lower Eocene Hamitabat sands, Toreador says. Both formations are productive onshore in the Turkish Thrace basin. The permit area consists of eight offshore blocks in the Turkish Black Sea totaling 800,000 acres between Bulgarian waters and the Bosporus.
Toreador operates this license with 50% interest with paratner HEMA holding the other 50% interest.
