LONDON – Results from Ngaji-1, the first well ever drilled in Uganda’s Lake Edward graben were inconclusive, says operator Dominion Petroleum.

The well, drilled to TD of 1,765m (5,790 ft), was designed to test the geology of the basin. Dominion says it will acquire a full suite of logs, coring samples, and a vertical seismic profile to support the layout and design of a planned 2D seismic program later this year, and further exploration drilling next year.

Ngaji-1 may also be suspended to allow for deviated drilling next year beneath Lake Edward to test a lead down-dip of the current location.
