COPENHAGEN -- The Siri-6 (5604/20-10) exploration well in the Danish sector of the North Sea is dry, according to DONG E&P. The jackup Maersk Resolute drilled the well to a total depth of 2,225 m (7,300 ft) below mean sea level in Danian age chalk. The well encountered reservoir sandstone in the Paleocene, but no hydrocarbon discovery was made, the company says. Coring and logging is being carried out for further evaluation.
The well is now being plugged and abandoned.
