LONDON -- The deepwater Jubilee field development offshore Ghana is on track to deliver first oil late in 2010, according to partner Tullow Oil.
Twelve wells have been drilled to date, while conversion work on the FPSO in Singapore and fabrication of the subsea equipment is progressing well. Installations should start early next year.
Tullow has plans to appraise three other deepwater discoveries in its Ghanaian licenses. The Mahogany-Deep 2 well is under way to appraise the field’s southern extent. Drilling of the final well in this program, Mahogany-5, should start early next year.
Later this month, Tullow expects to spud back-to-back appraisal wells on the Odum and Twenoboa discoveries, using the same rig.
