Kosmos’ Teak-4A appraisal well offshore Ghana P&A’d

DALLAS –The Teak-4A appraisal well offshore Ghana in the Cape Three Points block found thin, non-commercial reservoirs and will be P&A’d reports Kosmos Energy (NYSE:KOS).
The drill site is 6.1 km (3.8 mi) northwest of theTeak-1 discovery and targeted a stratigraphic extension of that well.
TheAtwood Hunterdrilled the well to TD of 2,850 m (9,348 ft) in 554 m (1,817 ft) water depth.
Kosmos Energy is the operator of theWest Cape Three Points block with a 30.875% interest. The partners are Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (30.875%), Tullow Oil plc (26.396%), Sabre Oil & Gas Holdings Ltd. (1.854%), and the Ghana National Petroleum Corp. (10% carried).
Kosmos also has agreed with Sabre Oil & Gas Holdings Ltd. to end Kosmos’ acquisition efforts for Sabre’s interest in the Deepwater Tanto block offshore Ghana.
Kosmos’ interest will remain at 18%. The partners include Tullow Oil plc (49.95%), Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (18%), Sabre Oil & Gas Holdings Ltd. (4.05%), and the Ghana National Petroleum Corp. (10% percent carried).
