StatoilHydro hits at Grane

StatoilHydro has discovered oil southwest of Grane field in the North Sea. Recoverable reserves are estimated at 20-30 Bbbl.

STAVANGER, Norway --StatoilHydro has discovered oil southwest of Grane field in the North Sea. Recoverable reserves are estimated at 20-30 Bbbl.

The discovery was in connection with PL169 and is called the M prospect. Wildcat well 25/11-25 S was drilled to Paleogenic reservoir rock from the semisubmersibleTransocean Winner which will move to drill a lateral branch well.
