CALGARY, Canada -- Nexen has hit 57 ft (17 m) of net oil pay with the Pink discovery in the North Sea. The discovery was followed up with a sidetrack that encountered 134 ft (41 m) of net oil pay.
Nexen believes Pink is a candidate for co-development with the Golden Eagle well.
Additionally, Nexen reports that first production from the Ettrick field has been pushed back until early 2009 following commissioning delays with the company's leased FPSO. Production volumes are expected to average between approximately 15,000 and 20,000 boe/d in 2009. The FPSO is designed to handle 30,000 b/d of oil and 35 MMcf/d of gas.
