Kuwait names new oil minister

The Kuwaiti government has appointed Sheikh Mohammad Al-Salem Al-Sabah as oil minister; he replaces Mohammad Al-Olaim.

KUWAIT CITY -- The Kuwaiti government has appointed Sheikh Mohammad Al-Salem Al-Sabah as oil minister; he replaces Mohammad Al-Olaim.

Al-Sabah, a member of the ruling family, will serve as the acting head of oil and gas affairs while also keeping his role as foreign minister.
