Dominion Gas has appointedDoug Crighton as MD, effective Nov. 3. He will be based in the company’s Aberdeen office, but with a remit to look after the needs of Dominion’s operations in the UK, Norway, West Africa, and the Caspian. The company also has appointed Russell Davies as projects director. He will be responsible for overall ownership and management of the ongoing projects associated with the company’s growth – both in the UK and internationally. Neil Potter, formerly of RB Farquhar, will take up the role of financial director from Bryan Park who will move into a new role as CFO for the group, all with effect from early November.
Triton Group has announced a major operations restructure. The restructure includes the appointment of a new group COO and the creation of three regional director posts to oversee the performance of each business.Dave Sturrock will have full responsibility for Triton Group’s operational performance worldwide. He also will assume the role of regional director Europe, Middle East, and West Africa until a new appointment can be made. Bruce Lokay has been appointed regional director for Asia-Pacific, based in Singapore. Meanwhile, former VP of business development at Triton Group, Steve Rampton, has taken on the role of regional director Americas.
FMC Technologies has named president and CEOPeter D. Kinnear as chairman of the company’s board of directors. He succeeds Joseph H. Netherland who served as chairman since March 2007. Netherland will continue to serve as a non-independent member of FMC Technologies’ board of directors.

Halliburton has opened a manufacturing and technology center in Singapore. This center will produce electronic sensors used in the company’s logging-while-drilling tools and openhole wireline logging services. The facility also serves as a repair and maintenance facility for drilling tools used throughout the region.
Triton Group has formed a new company, VMAX Technologies, to lead the sale and development of simulation software for subsea operations. The VMAX business will operate out of Florida, Houston, Aberdeen, Macae, and Singapore. The company expects to employ up to 30 people by the end of 2009.

Marathon Oil’s board of directors has sanctioned two Gulf of Mexico development projects, Droshky and Ozona. The board approved a total project cost of $1.3 billion for the Droshky development and $300 million for the Ozona development.
