Swiber Offshore Drilling has secured its first offshore drilling contract for a series of wells in the Gulf of Thailand. The $25-millon project is for NuCoastal (Thailand), a wholly owned subsidiary of Coastal Energy.

China Southern Airlines Co.’s Zhuhai Helicopter branch has contracted for additional Sikorsky helicopters to support offshore oil projects in the South China Sea and Bohai Bay in China.

A subsidiary ofJohn Wood Group has acquired IMV Corp. for $140 million.

Aquatic Engineering & Construction has opened a Singapore office and says an operations base will follow. Catriona Kang will head Aquatic’s business in Singapore.

At Balance and its sole shareholder, Shell Technology Ventures Fund 1 B.V., have agreed to sell a minority interest in At Balance to Smith International Inc.

Anzon Energy has sold its shares in PT Binatek Reka Kruh (which holds the Kruh TAC in South Sumatra) and PT Indama Putera Kayapratama (which holds the Kaya TAC in South Sumatra) for $5.3 million.

CNPC has contracted with Kingworld Resources, a subsidiary of Rimbunan Hijau Group, to develop and produce hydrocarbons at block 1 of Fuyu in the Songliao basin.

M-I Swaco has officially opened a new supply base in Cameron, Louisiana. It replaces the long-time facility destroyed in 2005 by Hurricane Rita.

CMP Products plans to open a new office in Perth, Australia. The UK-based company, which manufactures cable gland and cable connectors, adds the Australian base to its operations in Dubai, Houston, Shanghai, and Singapore.

Cyclotech has established a wholly-owned subsidiary in Singapore – Cyclotech Asia Pte Ltd. The company will be the focal point for the Cyclotech’s Chinese and Southeast Asian business operations. Lu Min has been appointed as the company’s regional manager in Asia.

Hayward Tyler has been contracted to supply two seawater lift pumps for a new ConocoPhillips platform off Indonesia in the Natuna Sea. The company will partner with PT Guna Pertiwi Cemberlang, Technip and Nisconi for the $500-million project.
