Technip completed and delivered a production deck to BHP Billiton and its partners Total and Talisman for the Angostura field in Trinidad & Tobago. It will be installed in a new oil field 22 miles offshore Trinidad & Tobago in 114 ft of water.
The platform is designed for a throughput of 100,000 b/d and 325 MMcf/d. The 5,000-ton structure was engineered by Technip Offshore Inc., one of the Group's US entities based in Houston, Texas, and fabricated at Technip's Gulf Marine Fabricators yard (GMF) in Ingleside, Texas.
Technip's scope of work for the project comprised the engineering, fabrication, and testing of the central production module and the power generation module as one unit; engineering, lifting, and setting of the compression module onto the central production module; and lifting and setting of the living quarters onto the transportation barge. GMF's specialized lifting device (SLD) performed these lifts totaling 3,500 tons.
Technip also performed the integration and hook up of the compression module to the production module.
The contract was awarded on May 13, 2003, and fabrication began on June 16, 2003. The deck was completed on August 31 and sailed away to Trinidad & Tobago on September 2.
