Glen Raven and Kermel create flame-resistant fabric

GLEN RAVEN, North Carolina -- Glen Raven and Kermel have teamed up to create GlenGuard FR, a flame-resistant fabric for the industrial protective apparel market.

Glen Raven and Kermel have spent more than two years on product development. According to the companies, Kermel's fiber construction and Glen Raven's fabric design expertise combined to yield a new flame-resistant fabric that is softer and suppler, lighter weight, more color-fast, and more abrasion resistant than other fabrics on the market.

GlenGuard FR fabrics exceed the safety standards (NFPA 70E) for thermal and body burn protection and offer the best protection-to-weight ratio available for single layer garments.
