FORT LORAMIE, Ohio -- Select-Arc Inc. has introduced two low alloy steel, gas-shielded, flux-cored electrodes. The products are intended for certain low alloy steels requiring 80,000-100,000 psi.

Both Select 81-Ni2 and Select 91-K2 use a rutile-slag system, which produces a finely rippled bead profile with a smooth spray arc transfer and a thin coverage of easily removed slag. Each wire also offers low temperature charpy v-notch toughness and high tensile strength.

Typical steel types for Select 81-Ni2 include ASTM A203, A572, A575 and steels containing 2% nickel, while Select 91-K2 is used for steel types that include HY-80, HY-100, ASTM A710, A514, and other similar high strength, low alloy steels.

These electrodes are designed for welding in rugged conditions including offshore platform construction, shipbuilding, earthmoving, and mining machinery and specialized structural applications.
