Terra Nova off-line for maintenance

Suncor Energy has started its planned maintenance shutdown on the Terra Nova FPSO, located 350 km (217 mi) southeast of St. John’s.

ST. JOHN’S, Newfoundland -- Suncor Energy has started its planned maintenance shutdown on the Terra Nova FPSO, located 350 km (217 mi) southeast of St. John’s.

The program, which started on July 12, is part of a regular maintenance schedule designed to support safe and reliable offshore operations.

Suncor expects around 160 employees and contractors to be involved in the maintenance and inspections work, which should take around four weeks to complete, during which the FPSO will be shut down completely.
