WESTHILL, UK -- Red Spider’s Electronic Remote Equalization Device (eRED) has completed ten successful runs in the North Sea, including tests on BP’s Valhall, Machar, Bruce, and West of Shetland fields. The downhole flow control product can be remotely opened and closed after deployment, allowing the operator to perform applications without the need for further interventions, the company says.

The company continues to develop the eRED range and work has begun on developing the tubing mounted version of eRED, which will be capable of permanent installation.
