SAN DIEGO, California -- InterOcean Systems has unveiled its Slick Sleuth oil spill detection and alarm systems. The products are used for immediate detection, early warning alert, containment, and prevention of accidental spills. The optical sensor detects small amounts of oil and can be configured to automatically shut off pumps or valves, activate alarms, and provide remote alert notification.

Slick Sleuths are deployed at distribution facilities, bulk storage and loading terminals, refineries, transportation facilities, and processing plants.

The new product detects crude, turbine, lube, hydraulic, fuel, and most other hydrocarbon derivatives. It is mounted above the target surface and is able to detect oil on water, dry concrete, or ground surfaces.
