Monitor wins North Sea rig system orders

Transocean has contracted Monitor Systems Scotland for a fire damper monitoring system for the semisubmersible drilling rig Paul B. Loyd Jr. in the North Sea.

ABERDEEN, UK -- Transocean has contracted Monitor Systems Scotland for a fire damper monitoring system for the semisubmersible drilling rig Paul B. Loyd Jr.in the North Sea. The system is being designed and built for installation later this year.

Monitor’s other recent contract awards from Transocean include a rack phase differential monitoring system for the Galaxy II jackup, and tank monitoring systems for the same rig and the Magellan and Galaxy III jackups, all for programs in the North Sea.

Monitor also won an order from Northern Offshore to supply, install, and commission a BOP control system for the Energy Endeavour’s new drilling contract in the North Sea.

And it has a supplied a heli-deck and environmental monitoring system for Dolphin Drilling's Borgsten semi.
