STAVANGER, Norway –Building on decades of operations in Stavanger, VetcoGray has celebrated a 3,000 sq m (32,000 sq ft) expansion of its service facility to include additional hardware test pits.
The service and aftermarket facility also is expanding its range of operations with the addition of the extra space. Not only will VetcoGray be able to bring in more pieces of hardware for assembly in Stavanger, but the special subsea installation team headquartered in Stavanger will serve all of VetcoGray with a dedicated team of experienced subsea equipment installation personnel, says Magnar Hjøllo, North Europe communications director for the company.
"This is the biggest facility of its type in Norway and the largest service shop within VetcoGray," Hjøllo says. "In addition to assembly, repair, upgrade, and testing, we now have the capacity to take on development projects from this office."
The reopening of Yme in the North Sea with the addition of new, updated hardware from VetcoGray in Stavanger is an example of the engineering and development projects he says can be completed in Stavanger now.
