Tropical storm Bonnie activity statistics

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation, and Enforcement has released offshore operator reports regarding the evacuation of platforms and rigs in the Gulf of Mexico due to tropical storm Bonnie.

NEW ORLEANS -- The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation, and Enforcement has released offshore operator reports regarding the evacuation of platforms and rigs in the Gulf of Mexico due to tropical storm Bonnie.

According to the reports submitted as of 11:30 a.m. Saturday, personnel from 106 platforms and 15 rigs have been evacuated. The reports indicate about 51.65% of oil production, and 23.53% of the natural gas production in the GoM have been shut in.

The bureau has activated its hurricane response team to monitor activities until operations return to normal, and the storm is no longer a threat to oil and gas activities in the Gulf.
