Kevin Kerins has been promoted to vice president and general manager of Oceaneering International’s Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) division, and will be responsible for the company’s worldwide ROV business. In his 28-year career with Oceaneering, Kerins has held a variety of domestic and international positions in ROV operations, marketing, and administration. In 1994, he conceived the design for the Hydra Magnum vehicle, which has been the platform for over 150 vehicles that Oceaneering has subsequently built and added to its fleet.
Martinus Brandal, former executive VP of Aker ASA, has succeeded Inge K. Hansen as president and CEO of Aker Kvaerner. Hansen joins Aker ASA as a consultant to the group’s management. Brandal joined Aker in the summer of 2004, and has held a number of board positions at Aker Group companies. Prior to joining Aker, Brandal was in charge of the Process Automation business area of the ABB industrial group.
“Taking over the helm of Aker Kvaerner from Inge Hansen is like taking over a ship that is right on course, going at high speed, with the best crew one could wish for,” said Brandal.
Aonghus O’Carroll has been appointed managing director of global energy consulting firm Knowledge Reservoir (UK) Ltd. O’Carroll will be responsible for Knowledge Reservoir’s activities in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. O’Carroll started his career in the oil and gas industry as a computing geologist with BP in London, and his industry experience also includes technical applications, sales and business development assignments with several service and software companies in the upstream E&P industry.
Abu Dhabi-based oilfield services provider AlMansoori Specialized Engineering (MSE) has announced two key appointments in its HSEQ management team. The company has appointedDr. Edna Aricaya-Huevos and Graham Caie as HSEQ advisors. Aricaya-Huevos will monitor, manage and promote better health and lifestyle amongst the company’s employees. Aricaya-Huevos graduated from the Ateneo de Davao University in the Philippines and is a practicing physician.
Caie is the new HSEQ advisor for AlMansoori Tubular Inspection Services (a division of MSE) and MSE’s Qatar and Saudi Arabia operations. He is responsible for HSEQ activity in Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Libya, and Oman. Caie has more than eight years of experience in the oil industry, with more than four years working in HSEQ in the Middle East.
Tom Ginnetti has been appointed manager of the Commercial Sales Division for Sea Recovery Corp., a water purification company. Ginnetti spent the last 3 years as a sales manager at Sea Recovery, where he reportedly helped to increase brand recognition with record sales numbers. In his new position as commercial sales manager, he will bring his expertise of the company’s reverse osmosis desalinators to a broader customer base. Ginnetti says, “We can show the benefits of going with a reverse osmosis system as a highly worthwhile option. Sea Recovery also offers comprehensive training programs, which demonstrate ways our customers can reduce costs with an R.O. system as opposed to other systems.”
Bruce C. Gilman has been elected chairman of the Board for subsea technology provider Deep Marine Technology Inc. Gilman brings a four decade subsea career to this role, with professional accomplishments including president of both Perry Offshore & Oceaneering International Inc., and chairman and president of Saipem Inc. Gilman is a graduate of the Polytechnic University of Brooklyn in Aeronautical Engineering; a registered Professional Engineer (PE); and Marine Technology Society President-elect and Fellow.
Marshall DeLuca has joined Atlantia in the role of deepwater sales and marketing. DeLuca has over 10 years experience in the tracking and analysis of the global deepwater floating production market through editorial positions at Offshore Engineer magazine and Offshore magazine. He was previously with Global Industries where he served as business development manager for the company’s GoM operations.

Flotation Technologies Inc., a global leader in deepwater buoyancy systems, and Lankhorst Mouldings, a leading supplier of polymeric pipeline ancillary systems, have signed an alliance agreement for the creation of Lankhorst Flotec Offshore LLC, a new JV that will reportedly offer the combined product lines in the GoM. The JV was created to pool the engineering, sales and product development resources of both companies. LFO will allow for the creation of product solutions from exploration through production, offering all ancillary products from the seabed to the surface. LFO will be the sales and marketing arm of both companies throughout the GoM.
American Block Mfg. received the prestigious Jess H. Jones award in June. The award is for export excellence was given by the Greater Houston Partnership and the US Dept. of Commerce. Mr. T.J. Sinha (center of picture), international sales manager for American Block, accepted the award on behalf of his company.
A consortium comprised ofTechnip and Subsea7 has received a letter of intent from Statoil for a 2 year frame contract for reeled pipe installation services in Norway. The consortium is based on a 50/50 split of revenue and contribution of resources and assets between the two companies. The estimated NOK1.6 billion contract includes project management, engineering, fabrication and installation of all of Statoil’s reeled pipe applications for 2007 and 2008. Management and engineering work will be performed out of Technip’s Stabekk, Norway offices and Subsea7’s Stavanger, Norway offices.
