DUBAI, UAE – Rig inspection services specialist ModuSpec has re-emerged as a privately owned, independent company.

This follows previous owner Lloyd’s Register’s (LR) decision to stop providing Drilling Integrity Services (LRDIS) in the Middle East and Asia/Pacific regions.

ModuSpec, which LR had acquired in 2008, formed the basis of the LRDIS service portfolio.

The company is now offering a comprehensive package comprising all aspects of drilling rig inspection, auditing, and training to local and international clients in the Middle East and Asia, Egypt, Uganda, and Kenya.

LR will continue providing Drilling Integrity Services in the Americas, Europe and other African countries under the LRDIS brand.

ModuSpec’s board includes former LRDIS and ModuSpec senior personnel Andrew Calderwood, Andrew Goldstein and Andy Frankland, which have worked in the Middle East and Asia for many years.

The company is backed by a Middle East energy investment group.
