MANCHESTER, UKMarginal Field Development Co. (MFDevCo) has entered two collaboration agreements as part of its gas to wire initiative for cost-effective development of marginal offshore gas fields.

Each agreement runs for an initial two years.

The latest is withSiemens’ Dresser-Rand business, a specialist in the provision and maintenance of power generation equipment to the offshore industry. In this case the initial focus will be on UK offshore projects, but Siemens is also said to be monitoring other projects that MFDevCo is pursuing worldwide.

Siemens will provide information and support to MFDevCo to secure gas to wire projects identified in return for an exclusive first option to provide certain equipment and services to those projects, on terms acceptable to both parties.

Earlier, MFDevCo announced an agreement with Marnavi Offshore, which operates a fleet of vessels, for a privately-owned shipping company established in 1910.

It will be able to assist the company by providing the vessels required to support all phases of its projects, from pre-installation through commissioning and operations and finally decommissioning, and via its geoscience services subsidiary Next Geosolutions.

The latter is a specialist provider of seabed mapping and burial assessment services, asset inspection and integrity management, intervention and remedial work, cable laying, leasing and inspection.

Marnavi will provide information and support to MFDevCo to secure gas to wire projects, again with an exclusive first option to provide certain equipment and services to those projects.
