SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – Egypt’s authorities have granted a new Nile Delta concession agreement.

According to Eni, this allows a 10-year extension of the 203-sq km (78-sq mi) Abu Madi West development lease where the shallow-waterNooros gas field is located, and the conducting of further exploration activities within the 64-sq km (24.7-sq mi) El Qar’a exploration lease.

Both are part of the Great Nooros Area in the Nile Delta.

The Nooros field currently produces around 32 MMcm/d of gas (around 215,000 boe/d). Eni has a 75% stake via its subsidiary IEOC, in partnership with BP (25%).

Petrobel, a joint venture between IEOC and Egyptian General Petroleum Corp., operates the Nile Delta concession.
