BERGEN, Norway – OMV Norge has exercised an option for Odfjell Drilling’s semisubmersible Deepsea Bergen to drill a second well offshore Norway.
The first well, finalized in April, led to a high-pressure/high-temperature (HP/HT) gas discovery in the Norwegian Sea.
The rig will drill an HPT appraisal well, scheduled to spud next spring, with an estimated duration of around 140 days. Total contract value is up to $28 million.
