Excelerate commissions MacGregor for Bangladesh FSRU moorings

MacGregor has won an order to provide a mooring/riser system for Excelerate’s floating storage and regasification unit serving the Moheshkhali floating liquefied natural gas terminal offshore Bangladesh.

HELSINKI, Finland – MacGregor has won an order to provide a mooring/riser system for Excelerate’s floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) serving the Moheshkhali floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal offshore Bangladesh.

The scope comprises engineering, procurement, construction and installation and includes supply of Flintstone mooring connectors.

Delivery is scheduled for 2Q 2018.

Moheshkhali FLNG will be the world’s first fully integrated turnkey floating LNG terminal in which all services are provided under a single contract by a single provider, Excelerate, which will also own and operate the terminal under a 15-year agreement with Petrobangla.

The FSRU will be anchored by a subsea buoy system with a subsea pipeline connected to Bangladesh’s onshore natural gas system. It will have a regasification capacity of 500 MMcf/d.
