Kongsberg handling system chosen for newbuild vessels in China and Korea

Kongsberg Maritime’s “Full Picture” solution has been selected by Chinese and Korean shipbuilders for 13 advanced newbuild offshore vessels with a total value of 330 million NOK ($53 million).

Asian shipyards expanding to meet vessel demand for the next decade

Globally, the pace of deepwater drilling activity is expected to slow down slightly in the next 18 to 24 months, thanks to project delays and cost savings measures among operators. And while this has created a slight overcapacity of deepwater drilling rigs in the market, this does not mean that shipyards are stagnant. On the contrary, many yards in the Asia/Pacifc region are staying quite busy in anticipation of the upswing in exploratory drilling in late 2016 and beyond.

MacGregor updates on recent orders from Bumi Armada

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has won an order from Bumi Armada Bhd, a Malaysia-based international offshore oilfied services provider, to supply a Pusnes offloading system for an FPSO conversion project.

UMW Offshore wins offshore drilling services contract

UMW Oil & Gas Corp. Bhd (UMWOG) reports that UMW Offshore Drilling Sdn Bhd (formerly known as UMW Standard Drilling Sdn Bhd), a wholly owned subsidiary of UMW Malaysian Ventures Sdn Bhd, which, in turn, is a wholly owned subsidiary of UMWOG, has been awarded a contract by PTTEP International Ltd for the provision of drilling rig services for Block M3 Appraisal Drilling Campaign 2014 within the Gulf of Mottama, Myanmar.

EOC updates on vessel acquisition, company transformation

EOC Ltd. has added a new accommodation and support vessel to its fleet, and has also agreed with its largest shareholder, Ezra Holdings Ltd., to consolidate EMAS Marine, the offshore support services division of Ezra.

Vallianz to collaborate with COOEC

Vallianz Holdings Ltd has signed a three-year collaboration agreement with Offshore Oil Engineering Co. Ltd (COOEC), the largest offshore engineering and construction company in China.

MacGregor wins AHTS equipment order from Marco Polo

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has secured a contract with the Marco Polo Shipyard Pte Ltd facilities in Batam, Indonesia, to supply deck equipment  for two 76-m (49-ft), 9,000-kW anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels with bollard pulls of 150 metric tons (165 tons), to be constructed for Marco Polo Marine. There are options for two further vessels.
