KONGSBERG, Norway — Kongsberg Maritime has released a new range of designs for anchorhandler and platform supply vessels from its UT series.
These provide the option to include alternative energy sources and fuels, such as methanol, ammonia and hybrid battery power, allowing ship owners to address efficiency, emissions reduction and other developing market requirements.
The new designs have approval in principle from DNV to operate with ammonia-fueled engines and can incorporate an offshore charging-capable plug-in hybrid option, enabling emission-free battery-powered operation.
