ASKER, NorwayKongsberg Digital will supply its Vessel Insight infrastructure, introduced in 2019, to Island Offshore’s fleet of 26 offshore service vessels.

Island Offshore will be able to collect all data from its fleet via a common platform. This will allow the company to use decision support tools and benchmark its vessels, comparing their operational data in order to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

It will also assist automation of reporting processes.

Four of Island’s vessels are already connected to the Vessel Insight platform, using the Kongsberg Maritime Vessel Performance application and Yxney Maritime’s MARESS application.

All four have quickly migrated from manual to automated reporting. Kongsberg Digital is currently installing Vessel Insight on the rest of the fleet.

Trond Hauge, technical manager, Island Offshore, said: “By collecting all data on one common platform, we gain a correct and efficient starting point to analyze our operations and compare all the vessels in the fleet.

“In this way we can share experiences between the vessels and ensure that we operate as efficiently and safely as possible, while at the same time making our fleet even more sustainable by reducing fuel consumption.

“With increasing demands for reporting, moving from a manual to an automated reporting process will save us a lot of work.”
