OSLO, Norway — The Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (Havtil) has authorized Equinor to use new facilities related to the Smørbukk Nord gas-condensate tieback to the Åsgard Field complex in the Norwegian Sea.

Consent covers seabed installations, pipelines, control cables and associated modifications on the semisubmersible Åsgard B platform.

However, Havtil (formerly the Petroleum Safety Authority) has opened an investigation into a smashed cabin window on the Åsgard A FPSO. The incident is thought to have been caused by stormy conditions Jan. 31, with the remains of a fire cabinet discovered inside the cabin.
