DORDRECHT, the Netherlands — ONE-Dyas has contracted N-Sea to install a subsea power cable between the Riffgat offshore wind farm, 15 km northwest of the island of Borkum in the German North Sea, and the new N05-A gas production platform in the Dutch sector.
N-Sea’s work scope comprises survey, design, supply, engineering, transport, installation, burial, termination and testing of the 10-km subsea cable. The company will mobilize various equipment spreads in the summers of 2023 and 2024 to execute the works, with first gas anticipated by August 2024.
The subsea cable will allow the N05-A platform to operate on electrical power from Riffgat.
ONE-Dyas aims to recover 4.5 Bcm to 13 Bcm of gas from the N05-A Field, which overlaps into German waters. The gas is destined for the Dutch and German sectors.
