Eidesvik, Reach form subsea partnership

Eidesvik Offshore has formed a joint venture with Reach Subsea that will acquire and operate the subsea vessel Edda Sun.

BOMLO, Norway  Eidesvik Offshore has formed a joint venture with Reach Subsea that will acquire and operate the subsea vessel Edda Sun.

The 2009-built vessel, which can perform subsea survey and IMR activities, will be renamed Viking Reach and will start a six-year contract with Reach Subsea early in the second quarter.

Eidesvik will have a 50.1% stake in the new venture and will provide full technical management, crewing and operation of the vessel.

Reach Subsea will own the remaining 49.9%.

Reach Subsea CEO Jostein Alendal said, “We are currently seeing record high activity in the subsea market, and this joint venture represents an important step for us in terms of securing a long-term core fleet portfolio.”
