ConocoPhillips gets nod for North Sea Tommeliten A-Ekofisk tieback

ConocoPhillips Skandinavia has approval from the Norwegian and UK authorities for its Tommeliten A gas condensate project in the Greater Ekofisk Area of the North Sea.

TANANGER, Norway ConocoPhillips Skandinavia has approval from the Norwegian and UK authorities for its Tommeliten A gas condensate project in the Greater Ekofisk Area of the North Sea.

Production should start in 2024.

Two subsea templates will be installed on the Tommeliten A field, designed to accommodate up to 12 production wells. The facilities will be tied back to the Ekofisk complex, 25 km to the northeast, where a new processing module will be added to handle the production.

ConocoPhillips estimates the field resource potential in the range 80 MMboe to 180 MMboe, mainly comprising gas condensate, and it anticipates total capex of about NOK13 billion (US$1.27 billion).

Other partners in the Tommeliten A Unit are PGNiG Upstream Norway, TotalEnergies EP Norge, Vår Energi, ConocoPhillips (U.K.) Holdings, TotalEnergies UK and Eni UK.
