LONDON – Start-up of the Jubilee South East project offshore Ghana in July should help the Jubilee field end the year at over 100,000 b/d, operator Tullow Oil said in its latest results statement.

Four wells have come online in the year to date – a Jubilee main producer in May, two JSE producers in July and another JSE producer this month. Two new water injectors should also go onstream before year end.

Now the partners are looking to sustain the higher production through infill drilling. They have identified multiple new drilling locations and opportunities to extend the plateau towards the end of the decade.

Nearby, production from the TEN fields was recently around 20,000 b/d, benefiting from improved pressure support from injection wells added in 2021-2.

A planned shutdown in July allowed completion of work to improve asset integrity, enhance production through increased gas injection and higher liquids recovery, and reduce flaring.

TEN flaring has since reduced by around 50% and there are plans to lower flaring further by 2024.
