SYDNEY, Australia — Shell Offshore Inc. has contracted Worley to provide services to support the Sparta floating platform, 170 miles from the Louisiana coast.
In partnership with Equinor, Shell is progressing the project toward FID, anticipated later this year.
Worley’s scope of supply covers engineering, design, procurement support, construction and commissioning support for the FEED, detailed design and follow-on phases of the project.
This will be based on the company’s lightweight floating production unit design, which has previously been deployed on two other Shell projects.
Worley added that it would implement a full suite of digital tools for the program, with project work conducted at its offices in Houston and Metairie, La., supported by the company’s Global Integrated Delivery team in India.
