ATHENS, Greece — Corinth Pipeworks, as subcontractor to Sumitomo Corp Europe, will fabricate about 160 km of longitudinally submerged arc-welded steel pipes (LSAW) for the offshore pipeline for OMV Petrom’s Neptun Deep gas project in the Black Sea.

The estimated value of the contract is EUR100 million to EUR150 million ($108 million to $162 million).

The 7,500-sq-km Neptun Deep Block is 160 km offshore Romania in water depths of up to 1,000 m. It is the country’s first deepwater development and the largest gas project to date in the Romanian Black Sea, Corinth said.

The company will manufacture the 30-inch pipeline at its complex in Thisvi, Greece, also applying an external anti-corrosion coating and internal flow efficiency lining.
