Seafox commissions installation jackup

HOOFDORP, Netherlands -- Seafox Group has entered into a joint venture and construction agreement with Keppel FELS in Singapore for the new installation jackup Seafox 5. Delivery is scheduled for mid-2012.

The vessel is designed to provide installation and support services in the deeper waters of the southern and central North Sea (65-70 m, or 213-229 ft).

The self-propelled DP-2 jackup will be able to installation loads of up to 1,200 metric tons (1,323 tons). Other features are a jacking system designed for quick, frequent deployment; a free deck area of more than 3,500 sq m (37,673 sq ft); accommodation for 150 personnel; improved jacking and moving capability (Hs 2 m by 6-8/s period); and a variable deck-load usable for the client’s use of 6,500 metric tons (7,165 tons).

Seafox 5 will be available for platform installations and removals throughout the southern North Sea, the Danish North Sea, and large parts of the central North Sea.

Seafox subsidiary Workfox will be operate the jackup from its offices in Hoofddorp and Great Yarmouth, UK.
