HOUSTON -- Endeavour Energy expects to participate in four exploratory wells in the North Sea over the next eight months. These include:
- Two wells on the GDF Suez-operated Cygnus gas discovery in the southern sector to appraise the field’s western extent. If successful, these wells could potentially double the reserves size from the current estimate of 535 bcf.
- A well on the Deacon prospect in block 15/28c, operated by Nexen, which could spud later this year. This is designed to test a Jurassic structure in Endeavour’s R-block area of the UK North Sea, potentially containing 60 MMbbl of condensate
- An exploratory well on the Platypus prospect in block 48/1 will test the Rotliegendes formation. The estimated reserves here are up to 80 bcf.

As for development projects, Endeavour says work on a first-phase program for Cygnus is progressing well, with production slate to start in mid-2011. The planned wells on the eastern half of the field will provide data for sizing of facilities in later phases.

Endeavour expects to issue a development plan for the Rochelle field next month, leading to first production in spring 2011. Columbus, operated by Serica Energy, should come on stream in 2012.
