Lundin Petroleum spuds Torphins well

STOCKHOLM -- Drilling of exploration well 21/8-4 on the Torphins prospect on block 21/8 in production license P1107 in the central North Sea sector of the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) has begun, according to Lundin Petroleum.

Well 21/8-4 is targeting the Palaeocene sandstone reservoir. The estimated unrisked gross potential is approximately 30 MMboe.

Transocean's semi GSF Arctic II is drilling the well, which is expected to take up to 75 days.
