ABERDEEN, UK -- Worldwide testing and advisory organization Exova has opened its first testing laboratory in Aberdeen.

The laboratory, serving the offshore market, will provide a range of corrosion, mechanical, and metallurgical tests for metals and metal products. In addition Exova will take charge of the Weld School already on site, which offers services including weld engineering support on welding processes, materials and mechanical testing; NDT, welder testing, and third party certification.

The new Exova Aberdeen Laboratory will work in partnership with the company’s existing laboratory in Edinburgh.

“Although Exova already has a strong presence in oil and gas, our research told us that potential offshore clients were looking for a quality based testing provider based in Aberdeen,” says Jason Clark, Exova’s GM of energy and general engineering for Scotland and the North East. “Our new laboratory allows us to offer customers a local service but with the resources of a worldwide testing brand.”
