SINGAPORE -- EOC has signed a $148-million joint transport & installation contract with a Malaysian offshore oil & gas group subsidiary.

EOC will work as an equal partner with the main contractor in the JDA block B-17 field development project within the Malaysia-Thailand Joint Development Area (MTJDA). The MTJDA, located in the lower part of the Gulf of Thailand, is an area of overlapping continental shelf claimed and jointly developed by both Malaysia and Thailand.

The contract is expected to involve EOC's newly delivered heavy-lift, accommodation, pipe-lay flagship, the Lewek Champion, and other support vessels from Ezra Holdings. These will be used to support offshore construction works, including transportation and installation of platforms, jackets, topsides, inter-connecting bridges, and infield pipelines within the MTJDA.

EOC's work scope is expected to begin in 3Q 2008 and end in 3Q 2009.
