NPD grants StatoilHydro, Petro-Canada drilling permits

STAVANGER -- The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has granted StatoilHydro Petroleum a permit to drill a wildcat well in production license 437 using the semisub Ocean Vanguard.

The NPD has also granted Petro-Canada Norge a permit to drill a wildcat well in production license 375 using the semisub Songa Delta.

The permit areas consists of parts of blocks 34/4 and 34/5, north of the Snorre field. Petro-Canada Norge AS is the operator with a 65% interest; Wintershall Norge ASA has a 35% interest.
