CSnet International awards expandable offshore communication backbone contracts

STUART, Florida -- CSnet International has awarded Maritime Communication Services (MCS) a contract for the overall system design of an expandable offshore communication backbone (OCB) concept. The company has also awarded Ocean Specialists (OSI) a contract to oversee the OCB’s procurement and installation.

CSnet International has awarded subcontracts to Ocean Works International to provide seafloor nodes and to Tyco Telecommunications (US) for supply and deployment of seafloor cable and couplings.

Deployment of the first system is scheduled for late 2010.
